Registration creates your patient file at the hospital. Most hospitals have a ground floor front desk where patients register before checking-in for admission, procedures, consultations, lab tests and surgeries.
At Kamol Cosmetic Hospital, however, registration takes place on the 3rd floor of the hospital. Our staff will be available to enter and gather all required patient information. Please have your passport or government-issued photo ID ready for the registration.
One of the first things a patient does is consultation with Dr. Kamol and/or other doctors.
Follow-up consultations will be part of your stay at the hospital.
Surgery consultation, which is essential for any surgical procedure, involves making an assessment whether the patient is fit to undergo surgery and if the benefits of the procedure outweigh the risk.
It also involves monitoring the patient’s recovery and progress after the procedure to ensure that there are no complications or if there are, they are managed and addressed immediately.
Your check-up takes place prior to surgery and will consist of an examination.
The physician will look at your blood test, lung x-ray, EKG, Ecotrest, and EST. This examination is required to make sure you are fit to undergo surgery.
Payment may be made through the following at the hospital:
- By cash (THB, EUR, USD, AUD, GBP, CAD etc.)
- By credit/debit card (with 3-5 percent international surcharge; Visa, Mastercard, American Express, UnionPay)
- By wire transfer to our bank account (it should be done one week before the arrival as transfers usually take several days)
- By online payment using credit or debit card (with 3.25 percent international surcharge)
The total cost of surgery should be paid before the surgery.

Patients scheduled for gender confirmation surgery are usually admitted on the same day as the procedure.
Exception occurs if your sex change surgery requires a colon procedure. In that case, admission is one day before surgery. Your admission may be arranged at any time on that day, depending on your physician’s recommendation and your scheduled procedure as well as if there are any additional procedures you will be undergoing.
Once the surgical procedures begin, the amount of time until completion depends on the number of procedures desired, recovery time or any complicating factors.
